Jordan is among the most sacred landscapes on the surface of the earth. Every road here is a biblical road. Every valley is a valley through which prophets walked, armies marched, and the Son of God passed. This pilgrimage has been designed not merely as a tour of religious sites, but as a sustained encounter with the biblical world — a journey through living geography where the words of Scripture are illuminated by the land itself. The route follows a north-to-south arc, beginning in the Decapolis cities of northern Jordan — where Jesus performed miracles and the earliest Christian communities built their churches — and culminating at Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the UNESCO World Heritage Site where Christ was baptised by John and his public ministry began. Along the way, pilgrims will stand on the mountain from which Moses saw the Promised Land, walk through the rose-red rock city of Petra, and trace the ancient Jordan Valley, one of the oldest corridors of human civilisation on earth. This programme visits all five of Jordan’s officially designated Catholic pilgrimage sites: Bethany Beyond the Jordan, Mount Nebo, Anjara (Our Lady of the Mountain), Tell Mar Elias, and Machaerus (Mukawir). It has been designed for comfortable coach travel with carefully managed driving times, unhurried site visits, and overnight stops chosen for both practical proximity and spiritual atmosphere.
